Youth pastor

Southgate Baptist Church in Thomasville, NC is searching for a part-time/bi-vocational Youth Pastor for approximately 20 hours per week. The Youth Pastor’s focus will be meeting the spiritual needs of all our children and youth. He will work alongside their families, volunteers and church leaders to help our students grow in their walk with Christ. Responsibilities

 

1. Work primarily with Youth (6th-12th grades) and provide guidance to Children’s volunteers and oversee the Children’s curriculum

2. Disciple, mentor and teach our Youth during Sunday School, Sunday night and Youth night

3. Plan and coordinate extracurricular activities with Youth

4. Plan and incorporate ways to involve our Youth and Children with the entire church body through interactive activities

5. Operate within the confines of the approved Youth and Children’s budget

6. Establish and maintain a church presence in our local schools and community

7. Assist the Pastor and Deacons with other ministry needs or areas as required

 

Qualifications

 

1. Have a vital, growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior

2. Have a passion for worship and a humble, team-oriented heart

3. Be an active member of the church

4. Be trained or experienced in Youth Ministry with a degree preferred but not required

5. Effective communicator and organizer who can coordinate Youth outreach, such as leading the Youth and workers to visit and minister to other Youth in the area

6. Successfully pass a background check
